"I'm still an early patient so I will update this with time. My provider was ready to see me within 5 minutes of my appointment arrival time, so very quick. Provider also allowed my partner to be temporarily present during a small portion of the first appointment, so that he could have input on behaviours or habits I might not be aware of. I found this to be going a step above so I took note of it. Provider took over an hour asking me questions about my past medical background, present medical background and fully listening to me. Absolutely no rush. Any psychiatrist I had been to before had short consultations - 15 to maybe 20 minutes tops, even during initial intake. So far, I highly recommend this practice just from those two events I consider exceptional. If you have an HRA that your employer contributes towards, then you can use that to help you pay out of pocket if help is needed. It has only been a few days since my initial consultation but treatment has already shown me improvements in my life and I was able to go to the store alone without feeling anxious. "I have been a patient of Dr. Patrick Rabjohn’s for a little over 3 years. I originally made an appointment to see him for anxiety and depression. My anxiety came from many sources, but the main source was something I had never talked to anyone about. On my first visit to the office, I was greeted by the kindest staff. Lauren, Kim, and Anne who went out of their way to reassure me, and they worked with me and my schedule on follow up appointments. Dr. Rabjohn had been highly recommended by several friends and co-workers. I was ready to meet him and ready to start feeling better. "Dr. Rabjohn and his front office staff, especially Lauren and Kim, have shown the highest degree of care for me over the last 5 years. Everything they do is with excellence. Lauren and Kim have always been responsive to my calls and messages. They are kind and patient when i talk to them on the phone. Even when I am stuttering, forgetful, severely depressed, anxious and have a difficult time putting sentences together. About 10 months ago I was badly burned in an explosion in another state. I was transferred from a small city hospital to a burn center 3-4 hours from the rural area where the accident occurred. Due to the traumatic situation, several hours of transport, examinations and really powerful pain meds for the burns, I had not taken my medications for a day or two and couldn’t remember the dosages. Lauren, as she is supposed to do, protected my private medical information when a nurse at the burn center called the office for my info. Lauren followed the correct protocols, which included asking the hospital to fax my info to Dr Rabjohns office. The nurse at the hospital was upset by this, but I wasn’t. Lauren did the right and legal thing. She waited until I contacted Dr. Rabjohns office and she gave me the dosing information. I know hospital staff have extremely demanding, highly responsible and very stressful jobs and I figured the nurse was having a rough day. I told her that Lauren was doing her job. Surely, the nurse would never just willy nilly give out my private information over the phone to just anybody either. I am grateful for Lauren and Kim. They are on top of things. They always respond to my messages; wether they be for prescription changes or transfers to different pharmacies due to all of the rx drug shortages. They are always friendly and nice when I go to the office for appointments. After being burned, my brain and body went haywire on me. I was embarrassed, but still talked to Dr. Rabjohn about what was going on. He handled it with great compassion and care. He assured me that what was happening was due to a “chemical dump” into my body because of the trauma and that what I was experiencing was not out of the normal and he had seen these things happen to other burn patients before. Dr Rabjohn listens and observed carefully. He adjusts my meds according to my changing needs. He is conservative in his treatment with such powerful rx drugs. I’ve noticed that he goes with tried and true medications. He understands the mechanisms of action, interactions, and possible side effects for all of the meds he prescribes. He is brilliant and down to earth. He is very personable and really cares about his patients. He has a broad amount of knowledge and is an excellent communicator. Dr. Rabjohn and his staff have been there through my good days and some really rough patches. I honestly could never see going anywhere else. "I had lost my Doctor of over 8 yrs when he retired and did some research finding another. On first meeting Dr Rabjohn it was very uncomfortable but he made me feel at ease within 10 minutes. Our Daughter was murdered and not once in all the time I’ve been seeing him did he tell me to “ get over it”. He validated my anguish, really listened, told me I wasn’t nuts and made me feel that any parent would be distressed. He has worked with me and explained physical reactions to thoughts, fears and grief. I’m glad he is a young man and I hope he doesn’t retire any time soon.
