The Alvarado Masonic Lodge, located at 101 East Atchley Avenue in Alvarado, Texas, is a historic institution that has been serving the community since its charter in 1869. Led by prominent figures such as A. J. Chambers, J. C. Weaver, and Joel Higgins, the lodge has a long history of supporting local education. The lodge building itself has provided classroom space and played a key role in the establishment of the Masonic Institute, which later evolved into Alvarado High School.
