Pete's Greenhouse
Pete's Greenhouse, located at 7300 Canyon Expressway in Amarillo, Texas, is a beloved institution with deep roots in the community. Originally established in 1967 by retired railroad engineer Pete Murdock, the greenhouse provided the local community with a variety of plants and flowers. In 1974, the Ruthardt family took over the business and expanded it to include a large wholesale operation, supplying stores throughout the region. In 1994, Darren and Glenda expanded Pete's Greenhouse to Amarillo, opening a store on Canyon Drive. They continued to grow and improve the business, focusing on expanding their home decor and gift section. In 2014, Darren and Buffy took over the business, including the growing of Glenda's beloved geraniums.
