“I can't say enough good things about Patriot! Tracey is amazing at what she does and is such a great role model in the girls Em-POW-er-ment classes. My daughter is exuding the confidence and strength she has always struggled to find and during these formative young tween years that's exactly the kind of strength a kid needs to overcome anything that'll come her way. Every tween girl should experience these classes in my opinion. Additionally, I absolutely love the adult classes, Tracey and Nick make it fun and un-intimidating (even for those of us that struggle with coordination), and you leave feeling better than you did when you got there and ready to take on the day. Every class has different elements keeping it fresh and keeping all your muscle groups challenged.”

“I've been going to Soma Lux Pilates for a while now, and I absolutely love it. I usually work with Alexis, but have also had sessions with Mary and Katie--and I have to say, that they're ALL fantastic! No matter how my body is doing that day--they always meet me at my level and are able to help me move more and grow stronger. The studio has top of the line equipment and is always impeccably clean. It's got a lovely bright vibe, and I'm always happy to arrive there and leave feeling like I got an amazing whole body workout. A definite recommend!”

“I've been going to VBodies steadily for the last year now and I have enjoy each class I've attended. I've taken classes with Matthew, Mary, and Victoria who are all wonderful teaches with their own flow and style. They are incredibly skilled at body alignment during each movement ensuring you don't injure your body and at the same time, this maximizes your training. I love the cardio and powerformer classes! Matthew is extremely respectful of each person's body and will either verbally instructor you to correct your movement, verbally instructor and lightly touch your body (very clearly letting you know where is touching), and if it is in a region of the body that might be more private (for example, inside of inner leg to engage your adductor muscle) he will either point or use a block to touch that space. He goes of his way to make sure each individual feels comfortable, respected, and safe. Matthew is certified through Precision Fitness which is a realistic and body positive/body transformation nutrition program so if you are looking for some nutritional guidance talk with him.”

“Love this location for CP. Parking is easy. Megan is my favorite instructor by far -- she's happy, energetic, and makes time go by so fast in class. Another instructor I enjoy quite a bit is Lyz; her classes are challenging and I always feel like I get two classes for the price of one when I take her class. Maricarmen subbed once and I loved her energy, creative classes, and bubbliness -- so fun. There are many instructors I haven't tried yet. The Westlake location is great and I'll keep coming as long as I can!”

    Austin Pilates Barn 2

    ★★★★★ 5
    Open

“Here's what I want to share about training for Level 2 Peak Pilates Instructors with Master Instructor Nancy Hurd of Austin Pilates Barn. Our very first day. We all arrive on time. Some of us know Nancy. Some meet her for the first time. Some know each other. Most - do not. And we are all adults, formed, shaped, set in our own ways....all to study and work together for the next couple of months. A huge challenge! Well, not for Nancy. She makes us feel welcomed immediately and after first ten minutes we are all talking and smiling - no longer strangers. It takes teacher's talent to melt what little ice there is, and get to work without wasting any time. The program is extremely demanding - mentally , emotionally, and physically. The days are 8 hours long. Information that is packed into the Course is brain draining. We begin. Nancy reads us all. She does not miss a page. She sees leaders and followers, and go getters , and doers, and class clowns. She uses individual approach for every one of us. We formed this orchestra with very different instruments but she is a seasoned master conductor. The melody is actually quite beautiful. We play well together. It would not be happening if our Instructor did not know her material. Oh but she owns it! We are not rushing, however under her detailed guidance we manage to accomplish each task in less time. And again back to a very talented teacher. Yes, we are working hard. Brain cells are clicking, our bodies are sweating, our muscles are aching. Nancy sees everything and everyone. She's very demanding. And yet it is all so much pure fun, pure joy, pure positive energy. She makes it all that. Time flies. First day is over. We get ready to drive home and look at each other in bewilderment - OMG!we have learned so much! And oh how we want to come back for more ( and of course we do). And we made new friends. And we feel so good about ourselves. One word, ladies and gentlemen - great teacher. (Ok, two.) As the Course continues we experience more of Nancy. She is superbly organized. Not a word, not a move goes wasted. She understands our abilities and keeps on challenging us, making us give just a little bit more every time ( it feels so good to know that you can). She is strict, she does not forgive sloppiness. But she is endlessly giving and caring, and absolutely fair. She never gives up, she works with each of us until we understand the topic completely. She accepts nothing but the best, and the way she teaches us cannot produce anything but the best. We feel in our minds and our bones that we are becoming better teachers ourselves. More confident, more experienced, more precise. Some of Nancy's wast knowledge transported into us. She made it happen. A magician at work. She is laconic when it comes to delivering clean lines of theory. She is patient and descriptive if we question her about something we do not quite understand yet. She makes us laugh. She makes us think. She is always there for us. She balances every day of our classes beautifully, alternating theory and practice, keeping us alert and working every second. She covers enormous amounts of material with ease. She never lets us know how exhausting it is for her ( yes it is exhausting to teach for 8 hours straight day after day after day) to be the center of our attention, to always watch and guide, guide, guide away from mistakes, and closer to the very perfection. What she lets us see and feel is how much she enjoys teaching us. And what could be better for a student than to see her teacher enjoying teaching? Passing the exam comes as next best. Well. We all passed successfully. Nancy taught us so exquisitely well that we would have passed with any examiner in the world... The experience was one of a kind. Enchanting, intoxicating, truly beautiful. Thank you, Nancy. From all of us. Written by Irina Frolina, LifeTime Fitness Pilates Instructor, Houston, TX”

“Fantastic Pilates studio! Very affordable, as it is a teaching studio. My trainer, Jess, is fantastic! So far, I’ve only done private seasons which are $65/session, and each session is 50 minutes. Packs can be purchased at a discounted rate. I have not started joining regular classes yet as they don’t quite fit my schedule, but plan to soon. Classes are $35/class and packs can be purchased as a discounted rate. I haven’t done Pilates since early 2020, and while it was a little hard to get back into it, my trainer has been great with modifications, clear instructions, and focusing on areas where I need more work or stretching or whatever I need.”

“I've had a life-long ankle injury that has prevented me from doing many things, including giving up running in 2017. I have had PT and all kinds of treatments (including surgery) and still didn't see improvements. Working with Blaire at Sharp Pilates has not only helped me get my ankle stronger, but it's helped me get out of a lot of pain. It's not completely gone, but every week it gets better and better. It's because Blaire treats the whole body, which in turn helps with a lot of acute pain. She is patient and empathetic, but also pushes where she knows she can, and she cares a lot about her client's progress. She is a fantastic instructor. I've gained mobility in my ankle, as well as strength, and a lot of flexibility. On top of that, I feel more confident in my looks, I stand taller, and I've really gained great muscle tone. Highly recommend working with Blaire!”

“I found out about Pure Pilates through ClassPass and fell in LOVE after taking my first class. I knew I had to sign up for an unlimited membership! The packages are a bit pricy (especially on a student budget) but totally worth it if you want to see and feel a difference in your body. I always feel welcomed upon walking in and am always greeted by a smile. The classes are very challenging (you will be sore), but the instructors make it so engaging and encouraging. Their attentive to your needs and make sure that you're not uncomfortable during any of the forms. There are only eight spots per class so you do receive a lot of personal attention which I appreciate. I am currently doing the April Sculpt Your Heart Out Challenge and I love that it incentivizes me to go every day. I hope they continue to do similar challenges each month. Overall, I couldn't recommend Pure Pilates more if you wanted to sculpt and tone. You'll come out of each class dripping in sweat and feeling SO accomplished!”
