Our mission is to promote and preserve Indian artistic traditions through comprehensive arts education, outreach, and exceptional programming. Led by our founder, Dr. Lavanya Rajagopalan, we offer classes in classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Odissi, and Kuchipudi, as well as Carnatic and Hindustani vocal and instrumental music. Our Dance Company showcases the beauty and intricacy of Indian classical arts through captivating performances, and we also offer workshops, demonstrations, and master classes to educate and enrich communities. Silambam recently received the prestigious designation of a Houston Cultural Treasure, recognizing our commitment to uplifting and inspiring communities of color.
