Specializing in structured training in Indian classical dances and music, Upasana Kalakendra is led by a dedicated dance scholar, educator, performer, and choreographer. With a background in Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattam, Kuchipudi, Kathakali, Ottanthulal, and Carnatic music, the founder of Upasana Kalakendra has a deep passion for Indian classical arts. Holding a PhD in Dance from Texas Woman’s University, her research focuses on the movement vocabulary of Indian classical dance post-British colonial era.
