Thanks to the dedication of long-time resident Otto Consolvo and a group of citizens, The Flower Mound was preserved from property development and placed under the care of The Flower Mound Foundation. In 1984, it was officially recognized as a State of Texas Historic site by the Texas State Historical Commission.
