Historic preservation sites in Flower Mound, Texas

The Flower Mound is a beautiful tourist attraction located at 2450 Flower Mound Road in Flower Mound, Texas. This historic site spans 12.576 acres of native Tall Grass Prairie, a segment of the Great American Black Land Prairie. Named for the abundance of wildflowers that bloom there, The Flower Mound is a significant landmark in the area. The institution is the namesake of the town of Flower Mound, Texas, and is a cherished piece of local history. Thanks to the dedication of long-time resident Otto Consolvo and a group of citizens, The Flower Mound was preserved from property development and placed under the care of The Flower Mound Foundation. In 1984, it was officially recognized as a State of Texas Historic site by the Texas State Historical Commission.
