"My father just left there today 9/25/2023. He was a first time patient reffered from his primary office. He waited one full month for the appointment. The office REFUSED to see him. He had arrived to the office at 8:30am when his appointment was at 9am. They turned him down because he did not have the PHYSICAL COPY of his insurance card. However, he had the DIGITAL COPY of the insurance card. If you’re not familiar with digital copies they obtain the exact same information as the physical copy but are on smart devices phones, tablets etc. The office knowing what type of patients this office sees they turned him down because something so small knowing their appointments are 1+ month out. I’m 33 years old and have been to countless doctors and specialists. I have never been denied an appointment for not having the physical card and only having a digital copy. My father drove from castroville, Texas to this office. It’s pretty clear their best interest is not their patients well being. This office is nothing less than unethical and unprofessional. He called another affiliated location for San Antonio kidney office in San Antonio and explained the situation and they were baffled by this office and scheduled him an appointment."

"Dr Peter Smolens was my Dr in excess of 15 years! These days it seems more difficult to have a personal relationship with a Dr. Over these past years I did have a personal relationship with him. I am sorry to loose him as a Dr. because his care has been superb. I am also sorry to loose him as a friend. I am happy for him as his retirement will be a new chapter in his life. Thanks Peter for your care and friendship over the years. You will be missed!"
