Butterfield Stage, located at 201 South Denton Street in Gainesville, Texas, has been entertaining audiences for over 40 years. This not-for-profit community theater was founded in 1979 by Cooke County residents Rodger Boyce, Tom Carson, and Monica Hess. What began as a small playhouse has grown into an organization known for providing high-quality entertainment and fostering the arts in the community. Housed in the historic former Carnegie Library, Butterfield Stage offers a unique experience for patrons, with theater seats repurposed from the Cooke County Courthouse.
