The Community Loan Center Corporation, located at 642 East Washington Street in Brownsville, Texas, is a finance institution founded in 1995 as the Rio Grande Valley Multibank (RGVMB). Certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the United States Department of Treasury, our mission is to provide financial products and development services to the RGV, with a focus on affordable housing and consumer lending. We offer a safe and affordable alternative to payday and car title loans, with all earnings reinvested into the program for expansion and lending capital. The Community Loan Center (CLC) was established in 2011 by RGV MultiBank to provide low-interest, low-fee personal loans. Since then, CLC has loaned $3.9 million to borrowers in the Rio Grande Valley. Administered by the Community Development Corporation of Brownsville, our member banks include Wells Fargo Bank, IBC Brownsville, IBC McAllen, IBC Zapata, Bank of America, Frost Bank, Lone Star National Bank, BBVA Compass Bank, and National Community Impact Corp.
