Plains City Hall
Plains City Hall, located at 1015 Avenue F in Plains, Texas, is the center of local government for the City of Plains. As the County Seat of Yoakum County, Plains was founded in 1907 and incorporated in 1953. The City Council, consisting of the Mayor and five council members, governs Plains, with additional officers including the City Administrator, City Secretary, and City Attorney. Residents of Plains can access services such as water, natural gas, and garbage collection through the City, as well as emergency management services and a volunteer fire department. Law enforcement is provided by the Yoakum County Sheriff's Department. The City is also home to the annual Old Settlers Reunion and Rodeo, as well as the Yoakum County Watermelon Roundup.
