Woodcrest Park, located at 11025 Forest Pass Court in Live Oak, Texas, is a historic institution created in 1971 from property donated by developer Llyod Denton. Serving as a major flood control project, the park features a variety of amenities spread across approximately 75 acres. From a football field and basketball court to three baseball fields, multiple playscapes, and a disc golf course, there is something for everyone to enjoy. A 2014 bond project added lights to all ball fields and a nearly 2-mile long trail circling the lake. The playground areas boast state-of-the-art astroturf and a fence for increased safety. The park also features picnic sites with tables and barbecue pits, available on a first come, first served basis. The Oaks Plaza Skate park, opened in 2016, offers a bi-level plaza style skate path and other skate amenities. The lake in Lakeside Park, created as a watershed management project, is a tranquil spot ideal for picnics, walks, and fishing. Handicap accessible fishing piers and an aerator in the pond help support the diverse wildlife. Paddle boards, kayaks, and canoes are allowed on the lake since 2018. Woodcrest Park, funded by Regent properties, offers walking and jogging trails, shaded picnic tables, and a unique playground with state-of-the-art artificial turf.
