"No one like to go into the hospital because it seems every take far to long to get things done and it is very stressful. Before arriving in New Braunfels TX traveling from CA with our motor home I hurt my back. I struggled with pain for over 12 days thinking it was a pull muscular injury. I also avoided going to the ER because coming from CA I was use to long waits and often over crowded rooms. In my mind this was compounded by the fact it was New Year eve day My wife pressured me for days knowing how much I was suffering finally she dragged me to Christus Santa Rosa New Braunfels. I was actually shocked how well everything ran and the care I received. Everyone greeted with a smile and real concern. Starting with check it. They saw I was in serious pain and rushed me through the process. Within a few minutes I was seen by 2 RN's who actually listened. Carefully asking questions. From there I was placed in a private room and seen by another RN and a doctor. Concerned about the pain the doctor order pain medication but prior to that the rushed in into a X-ray and the technician carefully got me in position with so much care it was almost like the felt the pain. The even offered a heating pad. I was seen by a female Dr but did not get her name is was extremely professional. I was placed back in a room and shortly after Dr. Peter Carlson returned telling me the x-ray shows a Vertebral Compression facture. While the did offer the names of several Orthopedic doctors none were able to see me is short order and we decide to return to San Diego to have surgery and follow up care. I would like to offer my thanks to all the people at Christus Santa Rosa for the care and compassion taking care of me. This is a first rate hospital"
