The park was petitioned to become a Texas Historical Site in 1979 due to an old Indian Camp Site located within its grounds. The park features a trail that circumnavigates the lake, providing a path nearly 2 miles long. Playground areas are equipped with state-of-the-art astroturf and surrounded by fences for increased safety. Restroom facilities are conveniently located throughout the park. The football and baseball fields are reserved for youth sporting teams but open to the public when not in use.
