Thorntons

"There is spit and phlegm on the packaged food in this store. This place is pathetic and deserves less than one star. I bought a candy bar and chewing gum and 2 soft drinks. When I got back to my truck, I noticed a big blob of spit on the candy bar, chewing gum, and my hand! I was next to the trash can and threw it away on impulse because I was grossed out. I went back into the store and washed my hands twice. I came back out to a long line but waited patiently and picked up a different candy bar and gum from a different location. A girl outside(Alex) sweeping up trash came in, in a huff because she had to help check people out as one of the clerks went to the restroom. The clerk came out from the restroom(that checked me out originally) and said she was sorry it happened. I asked if they had sanitizer and she said no, so I got some off the shelf to purchase. Then the clerk that had come in in a huff(Alex) said where's the stuff with the spit on it? I explained it was in the trash can where I was standing when I noticed it. She told me I had to bring it in so they could "waste it out" and prove it. I asked her why Thornton's would ask me to dig through the trash can much less pick up snot covered items and bring them in the store? She said it wasn't her problem. I said, well you can see they are in the trash can if you look and she said that wasn't her job. I told her to shove them then. She said leave and don't come back. I said fine, bye. The nice lady putting the hot food out stopped me and told me to come back tomorrow and speak to the manager. That's when "Huffer" (Alex)came over and told the little lady putting food out to go to the back and quit talking to me. I walked out of the store and Alex and the new hire Sam followed me out of the store, both still arguing with the lady putting hot food out. On my way out, the new hire Sam told me "thank you for your service, and don't come back" very sarcastically. And no, they never went to look and see what else it was on or asked me the location it was in. Just left the rest to be purchased by you. Save your money and your hygiene."

"Overall I like Thorntons. A store in Smyrna is where I usually go. Tonight I go to this store to grab a fountain drink. I we all know you never know what you’re gonna get with a fountain drink, I always grab a cup, put a little ice in it, and taste a sample to see if it’s watery or flat. Normally the drinks are not. I just sample with the same cup until I find the drink I want. Ok…so tonight I sample the Pepsi and it’s flat. Then the Dr Pepper and it’s watery for some reason. Then coke and it’s no good. Keep in mind I’m using the same cup and only putting a t tiny bit in my cup each time and then rinsing it with water. I finally decide to get a sprite. I go up to the counter and this rude wench behind the counter says ‘I’m supposed to charge you for two drinks since you kept going from one to another but I won’t do that today’. WHAT??? I told her umm no, I didn’t switch cups, I sampled the drinks and rightfully so because a lot of them tasted nasty. She said it doesn’t matter- her manager says they’re supposed to charge for two because it allegedly “messes with our inventory”. I gave her a go to hell look and told her I’ve never heard of that before. And I do that at any gas station I get a fountain drink from. I don’t know if it was the store or that rude wench. I would never pay double for a drink because i sampled the sodas. I would’ve told her to shove that drink up her…well, you know. I’ve never had a rude encounter at a thorntons before. I could understand if a person kept throwing cups away even tho those cups are super cheap. I will NEVER go to this store again. Is this is indeed this store’s policy they need to rethink it…or at least keep all your fountain drinks fresh so a person doesn’t have to sample."

"I Steve was at thee Thorntons on Old Fort Parkway at 6:17pm on July 25th 2023 , when I over heard an employee that has strawberry blonde long hair with glasses 5ft maybe talking to a blk customer stating that an employee didn't call out and I quote " cause she dope sick" . Very I mean very unprofessional. I wish I would have recorded it but I didnt want to look like a creep bottom line is I won't be coming back and I will be calling central office"

"Went in and broke a $20.00 bill on coffee donuts. Came out with my change think nothing of it. I think it was done because the boyfriend was in line and didn't want to move because the cashier was having family problems. My issue look at and count your change. She gave me a half of 10.00 bill. She had to know it was a half of a 10 dollar bill. Folks watch your money everywhere."
