Lookout Mountain Civil War Battlefield
Lookout Mountain Civil War Battlefield is a historic tourist attraction located at 110 Point Park Road in Lookout Mountain, Tennessee. This institution offers visitors a glimpse into the events that unfolded during the Civil War, specifically the Battle of Lookout Mountain. The Confederate Army's pursuit of the Union Army to Chattanooga led to a siege, with Confederate troops strategically positioned on Lookout Mountain to observe and shell Union positions below. The Battle Above the Clouds, fought on November 24, 1863, is a key event that took place on the northern slopes of Lookout Mountain.
