"I’m 6 hours from calling the police to force this hospital to let us leave. They’ve lied to us, mislead us, changed their stories, belittled us, threatened us, tried to scare us, and are practically holding us captive at this point. One resident even suggested that I lie on our application for Medicaid. He seriously told me HOW and that I SHOULD falsify my statements. They forgot to give my wife her medicine, and when we reminded them, they KEPT forgetting. It’s just a damn ibuprofen and they can’t be bothered. I’ve been told multiple times that we are free to leave, but when we try to leave, they say we can’t. Multiple days in a row, same thing. It’s 5:45 am. I was told by the director of the women’s services that we’d be allowed to leave today. I’m giving them until 12 noon before I’m contacting police. Do yourself a favor and die somewhere else, this hospital will just watch and take notes."
"The billing practices are way out of line. Every couple months I get a bill from their billing service for a visit to ER December 2022 !!! Look like this time the even raise the amount to $1000. I call and the last time I even got them on the phone with my insurance company who explained what was needed. I feel like I am being harassment by getting these bills in the mail. It is raising my blood pressure and causing extreme anxiety. But rest assured I will never go to this hospital again. I will also advise anyone I know not to go here either."
"This is going to be a long one so if you’re rushing to read reviews before your doctor initiates a transfer: don’t go to St. Francis if you have/may have had a stroke. I’d give 0 stars if I could, but I’ll justify the one star to give actual credit to Neuro ICU nurses Caleb and Andrea. They were phenomenal. Above and beyond kind of nurses. I don’t know where to start. My husband had stroke symptoms on Tuesday. He came to a local ER when he noticed the symptoms. The doctor in that ER started TPA and initiated a transfer. Well because bed availability is very difficult nowadays, we got transferred to St. Francis Park. He got to the ICU and we were feeling confident because our nursing care from Caleb was out of this world. The next morning rolls around and they took him for MRI and did a carotid ultrasound. Dr. Assaf came in and didn’t give us any information but told him he needed to be on aspirin for the rest of his life. Keep in mind a stroke was never confirmed at this point. We asked for confirmation and he said “oh I haven’t read the MRI.” Oh okay so you’re making medication calls with no true knowledge of what happened. Cool. We never saw him again. The poor nurse had to read the doctor’s documentation to us for us to find out my husband indeed had a stroke. But let me tell you- THE BILLING DEPARTMENT IS ON TOP OF THINGS. During quiet time, they called my husband, who just had a stroke and was laying in the ICU, asking for payment. He informed them he was in the bed and because of the TPA and his bleed risk, he couldn’t get up to get his wallet. Do you know, they sent someone to his room to get his wallet? How kind. That night we got moved to 5 Barry (med surg unit). My husband was cleared to ambulate after 24 hours and the ONLY thing he wanted was a shower. This man is a 2-a-day shower kind of guy. He was completely ambulatory. All he needed was a nurse to assist with tele leads and covering his IV port. We told them when we arrived that he would like a shower. They said to wait on a nurse and they’d take care of it. 3 hours passed and my husband couldn’t stand it. He took a glove off the wall and removed the fingers to cover his IV and ripped his tele leads off to take a shower. A nurse never came that night- so if there’s documentation of rounds from that night they are completely fabricated. We still never had an actual Doctor confirm his stroke. An echo order was placed on Tuesday. Thursday rolls around and he still hadn’t had the echo. A stroke patient with a history of PFO related stroke. No echo??? Are you kidding me? I called a cardiologist friend of mine to see what we needed to do and he jumped in immediately. He happened to have privileges there. My husband was magically taken down to echo almost instantly. The doctor came right away and took phenomenal care of us. He actually informed us that my husband had had TWO recent strokes. Called Dr. Assaf right in front of us and he confirmed everything…but HE couldn’t tell us this???? I was dumbfounded. We were asked to stay one more night to get one more test and then we could get the rest followed outpatient. Test was done at 8:30 Friday morning. Doctor gave us great report and said we could go home to be followed outpatient. Hospitalist didn’t come in until around 12:45 saying “I already put in the discharge order. Just hit your call button to tell the nurse and they’ll take care of you.” I did and the nurse cut me off and rudely said “you’re going to have to be patient. The dr. Has to put in a discharge so it’s going to be a while” and then hung up the call light. Keep in mind during this entire stay, my husband only hit the call button once prior to have a machine turned back on and the call light got turned off and no one came. I was fed up at this point. There’s more to the story but I reached the character limit. Long story short. When we did finally get discharged we hurried out of that building and will NEVER be back. We’d rather die. St. Francis- don’t waste your time hitting the one button for an automated reply on this review."
"I am very grateful to them. God bless all the nurses and doctors. I just had my baby on January 10 and they gave me the best attention. My husband and I plan to bring them coffee and some snacks so that they can endure the night. This is our way of thanking them for their great work."
"I delivered my baby here on the 18. A beautiful baby girl the service was EVERYTHING. I loved all my nurses from the labor and delivery (Ms.Alyssa) was the BEST i begged her to stick around to coach me during my epidural even tho it was time for her shift to end she stayed by my side. Also her relief nurse were fantastic (i forgot her name). When i made it up to my room Ms.Kyla was my nurse she was also wonderful she kept check on me and the baby and made me feel so comfortable. If i had to do it again I’ll choose St.Francis. Thank you ALL for your great services."
