"We came here in the fall and it was truly magical! I now understand why the Great Smokys are so popular during this season, it’s truly unreal. Loved this campsite. It’s very well located for a lot of trails as well as driving the epic Smoky Mountains Highway. We had a gorgeous site right by the river, which made it all worthwhile, great campsite to spend some time in, and would definitely return to this campground!"

"No cell service, so had to wait until we were home to write a review. We reserved our tent site in February for Father's Day 2019. Camp sites sell out fast, so plan early. We used our America the Beautiful pass (perk of bring over 62) for a 50% discount. The Rangers checked us in - Amanda was friendly & helpful. For personal service, arrive between 1-5PM. We brought our own portable grill for a cookout, but bought firewood for $6 for the fire pit from the store by the entrance (open 9-9). It was plenty. Vending machines at the store offer ice cream and other goodies. Bring soap and towels for the bathrooms, which offer flush toilets and hot/cold faucets. After dinner, we hiked past F camp sites, past the parking lot, and past the dilapidated buildings to watch fireflies in the trees. White lights disrupt their activity, but you need light to see to hike, so cover your phone/flashlight with red or blue gel. We're coming back next year for more than one night, and we'll be better prepared."

"Prices are reasonable. They accept credit/debit card but must be your’s and should have an ID for that. Campground is very peaceful, try to find a riverside spot. Loved it."

"There is a special type of craving that only one who has stayed at Elkmont can please. Every year I set out upon a 5 hour journey to fulfill my throbbing hunger for some sweet Smoky Mountain sugar from the camp-store ice cream vending machine. My hands will quiver with excitement as I pull a crisp dollar bill from my brown leather wallet and gently feed it into the money mechanism. The device will sing a seductive melody as the tiny motor spins and the bill is caressed and stored away. The red display will flash a "1.00" , letting you know that the time has come to choose what you deeply desire. The lid playfully dances and teeters while it slowly opens, revealing a scrumptious display of delicious cold morsels. The large black suction dongle begins to swing and sway along its path. It abruptly halts and begins its slow decent into the dark abyss. Your heart beats faster, the mood deepens, the moment has almost arrived. The dongle carelessly bumps and slides into the crevasse as it passionately sucks and latches onto to the snack. All of your lust comes to a climax as the sugary goodness dangles only inches away as the dongle maneuvers towards the chute. Sweat glistens off your forehead as you remove the wrapper. Soon your taste buds are engulfed in pleasure as the cool white cream melts inside of your mouth. After you finish you tell yourself you've had enough but your body is ready for more."
