Department of Theatre
The Department of Theatre at the University of Tennessee, located at 1115 Volunteer Boulevard in Knoxville, Tennessee, is dedicated to providing a comprehensive education in the art of theatre. Our programs are designed to integrate classroom learning with practical experience alongside professional theatre professionals at The Clarence Brown Theatre. As a LORT D Equity theatre and member of U/RTA, our students have the unique opportunity to train in a real-world theatre setting. We offer a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with concentrations in Acting, Costume Design, Lighting Design, Scenic Design, and Sound and Media Design. Our MFA program provides three years of intensive training, including hands-on experience at the Clarence Brown Theatre. Whether you are interested in pursuing a career in acting, design, or technical theatre, our programs are designed to help you succeed.

Ewing Gallery of Art + Architecture
