"Direct Ins is a “Joke”. Direct Ins was directly responsible for vehicle damage. My car was put in shop for repairs by Direct Ins. over a week ago with no rental car offered or provided. When I questioned about the rental by Taylor, she stated I could not be reimbursed for not getting one during that time even though a rental was never offered after request. She stated they would provide one after verification from the body shop was made. She called back and say that they would offer me a rental for this coming up week only and I can pick the car up at the rental enterprise rental. When picking a car from enterprise they said they didn’t have a vehicle available for me and one will not be available until the following week. I contacted Taylor @ Direct Ins again with Enterprise on the phone. Enterprise stated there was no truck or vehicle available and that one would not be available until the following Monday. When I called Taylor back at direct insurance to advise her what was said, she said that was not her problem. Filing complaint with corporate & seeking response. Will update response….."

"The thing I like is dealing with a real live person. Every time I've contacted Direct General, I've always had a pleasant experience with the agent. Never once did I get the feeling that I was taking up their valuable time. The associate was personable and efficient and down right NICE!!! Yup, I made a good choice by going with Direct General! Look, insurance is insurance, the rates may be different but it's all the same product. The difference is the people and you have a good group, Cheers! Well done you!"

"Just terrible... They can send emails to remind you to pay them, but they didn't notify me at all that my policy was going to be cancelled two weeks later until AFTER THEY HAD ALREADY CANCELLED IT!! My wife isn't licensed to drive in this state, and they wouldn't accept her out of state license either, all of which they knew when I got the policy. so two weeks after I paid my $80 monthly premium my policy was cancelled, and when I finally got my refund for half a month it was a whopping $15!! There is no way I'd ever recommend them to anyone, just terrible customer service all the way around..... Sadly I have to give them at a minimum one star, otherwise they wouldn't get that...."

"Bought a newer car insurance went down 50$ a month! Never have any issues and love the grace period they give you before canceling your insurance cause everyone falls on hard times. Direct has always been the best priced insurance company and always offers full 12 month coverage where other insurance companies only offer 6 months and at 3/4 the price of a full year!"

"Getting a quote online was super quick and easy. Great prices. The first amount I paid was a bit higher than the initial quote but the monthly payment after that are the lowest I could find anywhere else. They send you all the paperwork and proof of insurance immediately, paperless, which is great. You can set up your plan however you like, choose a plan they already have or personalize your own. So far, I'm happy with my decision, no real complaints. I'd recommend them to someone."
