Barnwell State Park, located at 223 State Park Road in Blackville, South Carolina, is a popular tourist attraction and park known for its great fishing spots. This park, one of 16 state parks built by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression, offers a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors to enjoy. Visitors can try self-led Barnwell State Park Bingo and even win a prize at the park! Starting January 1, 2020, pets will be allowed in cabin 2, which will be designated as pet friendly. Pets are also allowed in most outdoor areas as long as they are kept on a leash. The park manager, Eddie Richburg, shares his story of becoming a park ranger and his love for the historic CCC spillway and Dogwood Nature Trail in the park.
