B.C. Wall House
β OpenThe B.C. Wall House is a historic institution located at 1008 West Avenue in North Augusta, South Carolina. Built in 1902 by Civil War veteran and prominent businessman B.C. Wall, this turn-of-the-century home was designed by Martha Louise Wall Andrews, his daughter. The house, known as Sesame Lodge, served as a guest house for overflow from the nearby Hampton Terrace Hotel, which was a popular resort destination in the early 1900s. Martha Wall Andrews also designed several other homes in historic North Augusta, showcasing her architectural talents. Unfortunately, a fire damaged the interior of Sesame Lodge during the Walls' occupancy, but the house was repaired with modern updates that did not reflect its original 1902 construction. The Hampton Terrace Hotel itself burned down in 1916, leading to the decline of North Augusta as a resort village.
