Clemson Construction Science and Management Experiential Learning (XL) Construction Yard
The Clemson Construction Science and Management Experiential Learning (XL) Construction Yard, located at 170 Hugo Drive in Seneca, South Carolina, is a unique outdoor laboratory for students in the Nieri Family Department of Construction Science and Management at Clemson University. This 3-acre site provides hands-on construction experience for students, allowing them to construct full-scale structures and gain practical skills in the field. The XL Yard includes the John B. Nieri Construction Learning Center, a 1,800-square-foot classroom donated by Michael Nieri in honor of his father. Students will take classes at the site, including safety courses and construction workshops, led by Richard Gauthier, the department's experiential learning program coordinator.
