Mt Olive Baptist Church

"I was born and raised in The Historic Mount Olive Baptist Church in Mullins. This is, and has always been, a family church. Mt. Olive is a place of Restoration, Refreshing, Revelation, and Renewal. As a child, I was in the Youth Choir and an Usher. As a teenager, I was responsible for cutting the Church yards and doing whatever I was assigned to do. Finally, Mt. Olive has been a guiding light for Marion and Horry County in the time of need. Always willing to help other ministries in their time of need."

"HALLELUJAH!!! What a CHRISTMAS DAY Worship! I was visiting from NYC my elderly aunt in Mullins, the only surviving sibling of my father who passed away last November 2021. However, none of the Churches attended by family members whom I was visiting was offering Worship services on Christmas. Disappointed, I researched online for nearby Churches, searching for one with an open door on CHRISTMAS DAY and discovered MOBC [When one door closes, GOD HAS A BIGGER, BETTER ONE TO OPEN]. OMG, immensely inspired reading about its history - national landmark for both architecture & American heritage; its building designed by Wade Ford, an African American architect, and built with volunteered labor by members of the Church [ "All who are gifted artisans among you shall come and make all that the LORD has commanded..." Exodus 35:10]! Intrigued, I then watched an online video of one of its Services and became aware that it would be open for Worship on Christmas Day! GOD was GIVING me MORE than I had wanted - extraordinary history and Church Worship. I attended on CHRISTMAS DAY and am still Praising GOD for that experience -- warmth of the congregants, uplifting Choir, moving Sermon, and of course all in the building that Love and Miracles built. I was impressed by the young people in attendance, one handed me a Bible during Service. I am a new supporter of this Church. Thank you Rev. Bethea and the whole MOBC Family for being a part of my Christmas Story, my cherished Christmas memory."

"I just recently moved to corner of N Park and Church Street. I haven’t had a chance to experience the worship service, but have gotten to meet and fellowship with many of the nice members of this church. I thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful Thanksgiving dinner they provided yesterday , am encouraged to witness the service they provide to our community, and am always blessed by the music and powerful preaching I hear, while sitting on my porch each Sunday. I sure hope I can visit soon. May God richly bless Mt Olive for the blessing they have been to me with my short time here."
