About the Business
Rivers Bridge State Park, located in Ehrhardt, South Carolina, is a historic site that marks one of the Confederacy's last stands against General William T. Sherman's sweep across the South during the Civil War. The park offers a ¾-mile guided trail with interpretive panels detailing the Battle of Rivers Bridge, as well as ranger-guided tours of the well-preserved battlefield and earthen fortifications.
The park also features a Community Building that can accommodate up to 120 people, making it an ideal venue for weddings, receptions, reunions, birthdays, business meetings, and more. Park admission is free, but Saturday tours are available for a fee. Pets are allowed in most outdoor areas as long as they are kept on a leash.
Eddie Richburg, the Manager of Battle of Rivers Bridge State Historic Site, shares his story of becoming a park ranger and his love for the actual battlefield at Rivers Bridge. Visitors can participate in the "Take a Walk with a Soldier" activity, where they can learn about a soldier's story and fate during the battle.
With its preserved battlefield and rich history, Rivers Bridge State Park is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.

"Great to learn about history but not much else"
"Being able to see a battlefield intact like this was amazing. They do not have the best guide information but if you do the battlefield walk, go to the left and walk all the way around. There are a lot of bugs because of the swamp so come prepared. The little visitor center is a must, the park ranger was very informative and nice. You can view the clothing and accessories that the soldiers were back then. You can even wear them! Space we saw the memorial and it was very clean and nicely taken care of."
"Had a really great visit to this state park. We brought our three young children with us and Russel the Park Ranger was awesome. He gave the kids an interesting history lesson, allowed them to try on period clothing and was just great."
"This site marks one of the Confederacy's last stands against General William Sherman's sweep across the South. There are 4 historic cemeteries, 7 World War 2 veterans remembered and 4 county Civil War monuments. Don't forget the 390 acres bordering the beautiful Salkahatchie River and Three Mile Creek with 3.5 miles of hiking trails."
"This State Historic Site is a one of a kind place to visit for a step back into history. This is the only site in SC where it has a well preserved battle field from the Civil War. It gives information from both the Confederate and Union side of the war. Although short, it's still a great history lesson for kids and adults. You can get a tour from your well knowledgeable park rangers. There are also trails including a nature trail that has a fun scavenger hunt, my husband and I actually did the hunt ourselves!
