Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort at the Pavilion

"I didn't take any pictures. I will start with the staff. They were all super friendly and responded to all of our requests even late at night. Our room was the one bedroom with living and a pull out Murphy bed. Two beds in the bedroom. We walked into the bedroom from the hall which was kind of weird. The room itself was fine for a long weekend and it was cheap (off season). The view was amazing. But they use the name "Resort" very loosely. It probably was in its hay day but no updates. We saw two bugs in the room. Building wasn't very clean but room was (again no updates for a long time, if ever). It felt like a motel not a resort. Close to the boardwalk. Pool was decent but at the building next door. No indoor pool. I wouldn't spend a vacation here during the season. I imagine those prices are much higher and I'd want something nicer."

"Sandcastle at the Pavilion, This resort was interesting but not in a bad way. The location of the resort is not far from most of the main attractions in Myrtle beach. I went in there and the Alex at the desk was super helpful and friendly because we were not really prepared on what to do and planed nothing other than out concert, Alex gave us a lot of information on things to do after my buddy checked-in we went on to the room and after unloading and going up to room the room it was really clean and ready for our stay. I didn't worry about anything at all I loved the resort and its location after staying at south resort earlier this year. The desk provided cookware to use in unit and this was one of many times visiting friends in myrtle. I was super happy and pleased with our stay at the resort and can't wait to book another trip!"

"First, it should be noted that our stay here was through a promotion for a week of free lodgings but we paid an upgrade fee for this "beach front resort". Upon arrival, pest control was at the front desk being assigned rooms to service....not the best welcome! On the trip to our assigned room we immediately noted the dingy and worn furnishings in both the main lobby and in the adjacent building we were assigned. The rugs, mats, tile elevator, etc... were all outdated, dirty and gross. We inspected our room thoroughly but did not see any bugs; but all the furniture and decor were substandard and clearly old. The bed was average comfort-wise but the pillows were like bricks. After spending some time unpacking and checking the resort, we opted to make a trip to Home Depot and purchased plastic sheeting to cover the mattress. It should be mentioned that they charge a resort fee but there are no amenities that justify that charge. You have to request room service and when we asked for service on day three, they handed us a set of sheets. During our first couple days of stay, the door locks for the entry door and room stopped working properly and required numerous attempts of swiping for them to activate and we saw others experiencing the same difficulties. After seeing more pest control on day 3 and day 4, we were so grosed out, we opted to change hotels and eat whatever charges we were already obliged to pay rather than stay one more minute. I appreciate that we all have differing expectations for our money but this hotel has no business representing themselves as a resort. A cheap "fleabag" hotel would be more accurate. BUYER BEWARE!"

"The hotel was great. My city view room was upgraded to an ocean front at no extra cost, the guy at the check in was funny and courteous. Everywhere we went there were people cleaning. Its close to the attractions at the boardwalk. All of the staff members were cool. I had no issues and will definitely come back again."

"Room- We stayed in an oceanfront room in the main building. The room had 2 queen beds, dinette table, small microwave, and mini fridge. The room was outdated, but okay. Upon arrival our shower was dirty, but easily cleaned. Service- We requested no room service for our stay, however, when we approached staff to switch out towels and get additional toiletries (these were not left in the room), staff weren't the most pleasant. Location- The location of the hotel was great. Short walk to the boardwalk! Atmosphere- Here is where my problem lies! During our stay, there was a lot do Marijuana smoking happening in and around our hotel, esp by the pool in the evenings. You couldn't walk out to go to the pool without being taken back by the smell. We have a young child and felt this way highly inappropriate. There was a "DJ" by the pool 2 nights of our stay, so it was loud from 6 until 11pm."
