"I have experienced many things with my now adult children, braces, wisdom teeth, broken nose repair, shoulder surgery as well as countless doctor’s appointments. I can not remember any of those times being as traumatizing as my experience with a dental procedure this past week with my nephew. Right now, my 9 year old nephew is living with us and we have the responsibility of taking care of dental and medical needs. The dental has definitely been neglected over the past few years so after our recent cleaning we were sent to a place in Greenville for sedation. We had a consultation and were told that the work would have to be done in two different visits. I was pleased with that visit and was anxiously awaiting the first procedure. It was absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had. He basically manhandled my nephew. Never explaining what he was about to do or what he should expect to feel. While we waited for the numbing shots to take effect, he got so worked up and started spitting up. I finally got him calmed back down and ready to go when the dentist came back into work. Then when my nephew cried out too loudly he told him he would have to get quiet then proceeded to “rip out” 4 of his teeth in less than 10 seconds. After that he informed me that he couldn’t do anymore and I wouldn’t be able to bring him back; that he would need to go somewhere that would do IV sedation and I would have to pay the difference. When I asked questions, his responses were rude and he was very unempathetic. He left the room and I spoke with the two assistants in the room with tears rolling down my face. They were kind and tried to give suggestions. I held my nephew as he cried and tried to make him as comfortable as possible. Dr. Head is rude, has no compassion and should not be working with children. Worst experience ever."
