It's tucked away in a neighborhood, so if you weren't looking for it, you may miss it on your visit to Charleston. But since you're visiting a city, built on top of the graves of black Americans, you should make a point to search it out. It's well worth it."

"I visited Avery Research Center in 2009 and enjoyed it. I took my family from out of town last Friday July 1st and was rather disappointed. We were left to explore on our own no guided tour."
