"TL;DR: Checks all the boxes if this style of living is what you are in the market for! My roommates and I lived here for 4.5 years and loved Harris Mill! We rented a two-bedroom with the massive loft space. Two roommates moved out-of-state while the remaining roommate and I were unfortunately not able to afford the jump in rent. This was our first apartment out of college, though, and we could not have asked for a better experience. The front office has been responsive and reasonable ever since before we even signed the initial lease. They worked with us through any issues and were always quick to respond to any questions or concerns. It is important to note that we lived there at the start of and through the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The complex staff responded quickly to these unforeseen circumstances, and I felt more secure living there because they took initiative to prioritize everyone's health and safety. At no point did we feel like appropriate precautions weren't being taken. The management also takes pride in keeping the complex in good shape and continuing to improve it. Maintenance especially is often within 24-hours, even for a non-emergency issue. We have never had to worry about carrying the cost if something breaks or a part in an appliance wears out. The amenities (gym, theater room, game room, clubhouse, dog park, grill area, basketball court) are always cleaned and attended to when equipment needs attention, as well, and the hallways and stairwells are regularly swept and touched up. While we lived there, lounge furniture was added to some open spaces, worn stairwell carpets were replaced, and an Amazon Hub was installed in the mail room for packages. The apartment itself was beautiful. Guests were impressed by the nice cabinets, floors, countertops, appliances, exposed brick, fireplace, and spiral staircase. We loved how much counter space there was to cook and entertain, too! Between all of our friends' places, this apartment was the central hub for any gathering. The huge windows were great for sunlight and surprisingly didn't lead to the unit being sweltering during summer or frigid during winter. Despite only being a two-bedroom, we all had our own areas. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a bonus space the loft is to use as a bedroom, office, and extra hang-out space. We also loved how pet-friendly the complex was. I got two guinea pigs shortly after moving in, and the front office added them to the lease in short order. Dog waste trash cans are available around the property, and there are some woodsy neighborhoods to walk or run through surrounding the complex. We also never had an issue with parking. A spot would always be available in one of the three lots or the spots against the building on a side street. Even though we could not always park at the door nearest to our apartment, nobody ever had to park off-property the entire time we lived here. Again, maintenance is good about salting during snow and plowing. The "car shuffle," where one lot is cleared every hour with cars in that lot going to the remaining two, can be stressful but gets the job done if everyone does their part. Location-wise, there are a couple of fantastic restaurants less than a block away in Hash and Bill's Place. A Cumberland Farms and liquor store are also within walking distance. Bald Hill Road--with even more stores, malls, and restaurants--is less than fifteen minutes away, and the T. F. Green Airport is not much farther. Many doctor's offices are in that area, too. Beaches are about a 30-minute drive. Anywhere you want to go, it only takes about ten minutes to get on the right highway. All-in-all, Harris Mill is a great place to live if you can afford the price. The worst of the rent increases is hopefully over, as well, but of course I can't speak to that. As long as you can afford it, Harris Mill is a no-brainer."
"While I was not a prospective tenant I can tell you the property manager (Jessica) is an exceptionally professional person to work with. Let me explain .. I received notice that a credit bureau had pinged me for being in arrears at this complex. After calling Jessica, she went above and beyond to correct this error and went above and beyond to keep me informed as to the status. I must say, the company employing her must be so very proud of Jessica - her professionalism, tenacity and dedication is something very rare in todays world. All I can conclude is that being a tenant with an issue (and with Jessica to reach out to) - rest assured you'll be well taken care of. The complex must be well maintained and run with her at the helm overseeing it!"
"My husband and I discovered Harris Mill Lofts through research of apartments in the area prior to our move from NC to RI. The website is very accurate to what the complex looks like, inside and out-which was crucial for us since we moved from out of state. Sadly we only lived there for a year, but it was our favorite apartment we’ve lived in thus far. The high ceilings, large, glorious windows, fireplace and original wood flooring definitely added to the charm. We appreciated all of the amenities it includes on the property as well as the pleasant experience we always had with office staff and maintenance crew during our time living there. Highly recommend!"
"We lived at Harris Mill Lofts for 6 months in 2022. It was a great experience. We loved the apartment with its high ceilings, original wood floors and giant windows. We had a corner unit, which made it even better. Harris Mills is well managed by Jessica and Kit. HML is very dog friendly, with a dog run that opened when we were there, complete with a dog party to celebrate. There is no recycling, a minor point I know, so I took my recycling to Coventry Public Works. Overall, highly recommended."
"My wife and I have lived at Harris Mill Lofts for nearly two years. After selling our house in Southern RI, we looked for a sizable apartment without the hassles of home ownership. Harris Mill has been the perfect choice. The apartment is spacious and quiet. We’re on the 2nd floor of a 3 floor building, and aside from hearing occasional footsteps upstairs or a neighbor vacuuming, our unit is extremely quiet and peaceful. We have huge windows that let in the daylight and help to keep the place warm in the wintertime. I am self employed and use one of the bedrooms as my office and am able to do my work in complete silence. We use our loft as our living room and love the spaciousness of the unit. The staff at Harris Mill is quick to respond to any questions or problems you might encounter. The ice maker stopped working in our refrigerator and the staff replaced it in less than a day. We highly recommend both Harris Mill and living in this area along the Coventry/West Warwick border."
