"My father brought in his Tacoma for a diagnostic and repair work. The truck has a check engine light and throwing code p0037 and p0057 for Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Heater Control Circuit Low. Being some what capable mechanic myself I replace the 2 faulty o2 sensors with denso oem sensors but the code still comes back. So I think it might be electrical issue so I had my father bring the truck to get it check out. The tech said Toyota cars doesn’t like aftermarket sensors so they would have to replace it with a Toyota oem sensors. At this point I’m like whatever after trying to fix it myself and I need the truck to pass inspection coming up soon so I had him agree to the repair. After spending over $1000 for parts and labor the check engine light is still on. Did another diagnostic and the tech said the ecm is not getting communication from the o2 sensors and the truck might need a new ecm which is a very expensive part. After all this money spent I’m just told it “might” be something else. So the original repair I agree to wasn’t it. Wish Toyota of Smithfield can credit what my elderly father originally paid and use it towards the suspected part."
"My husband bought me a car from this Toyota Smithfield, I absolutely adore my CHR- SUV... my husband spent a lot of money in order for me to get a warranty on my SUV that way if God forbid anything ever went wrong I'd be able to bring it back to them recently I've been having a problem with my remote starter which I got that they put in my SUV so the moral of this little comment is this I was told that I need to bring my SUV to a another establishment like a garage or whomever because they are not equipped / able to do THAT!! Which I honestly do not understand if I have a huge warranty just be careful be a little weary because it's NOT the mechanics in the service department it's the step up "position wise" n the service department that told me that I have to bring my vehicle somewhere else."
"I went to Toyota of Smithfield for a car repair service, and the service department displayed predatory and dishonest behavior. They are not transparent and their actions suggest that they want to maximize profit rather than prioritize the concerns of the customer or try to maintain a relationship with the customer. First, when I first called to make an appointment for car service, they were not transparent about any fees that would be involved with simply inspect the car, and I was caught off guard when I arrived about an inspection fee. While I do not mind paying an inspection fee, I did not appreciate the lack of transparency regarding the process. Next, I was informed by my service person that my car wiring had been chewed through, and because of that the entire engine wire harness would not be repairable and would need to be replaced. Even worse, not only did they provide a ridiculously high estimate for the entire part replacement and labor (>$7000), but they also discouraged me from reaching out to handle this issue through my insurance, and said that my car was better off being evaluated for trade-in value for a new car. Even worse, they did not provide me any details about the damage and why the part needed replacing, even though I requested details about the part and an explanation for why this part was not repairable via email. They strongly continued to push me to purchase a new car, even though I clearly communicated that I wanted to get my car fixed. Additionally, even though I have gotten coverage through my insurance for a rental car during repairs previously for the last 6 years (through a different Toyota Service place in a different state), they told me that my car rental would cost me money out of pocket, which I knew to be false. They did not even try to work with me to look into any of the services that I know have access to and were dismissive of my concerns and insisted that I needed to buy a new $4500 part. Thankfully I did not listen to them, and after reaching out to my insurance I was able to get access to all of my services, and after getting a second opinion I was able to get my wiring issue fixed for less than $100. Do not bring your Toyota here, the folks here at the service department appear nice, but they display predatory behavior and care more about profiting from you (and trying to sell you new cars) than providing you fair and comprehensive service for your car."
"Bought a car from these guys back in March of 2020! It started off good but then when it came to my trade in they lowballed me more than what they said they would have offered. I was already at the point I was kind of fed up and about ready to leave. The used car manager and salesman just kept on peer pressuring me. (Shame on me) So what did I do? I ended up trading the car in for less than what I wanted to and bought the car I wanted. They waited until the very last day of my grace period to get me the car registered after being told each day that past “we have runner going tomorrow” day after day. There are a few problems I had with the car in which I brought back to the service dept. within a weeks time and they took care of it but 1 problem couldn’t be resolved that day and “parts were backordered” ha.. I actually found the parts needed in stock at another dealership but I don’t plan on fixing it myself since the car is under warranty. So I wonder how much longer I have to wait until I hear back from them this was back in March as well. Guess what its already May and I have yet to get a call from them for the parts needed to fix my problem with the car I purchased. Overall best experience with this dealership was ONLY Financing."

No BS, just friendly, honest people. They went above and beyond to gain our business. I was able to take my new car same day. I would highly recommend!!!!"
