East Brandywine Community Park
East Brandywine Community Park, located at 440 Dilworth Road in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, is a sprawling 64-acre park that offers a variety of amenities for visitors of all ages. Established in 1990 and developed in three phases, the park is a collaborative effort between the Parks & Recreation Committee, the East Brandywine Youth Association (EBYA), volunteers, and donors. Visitors to the park can enjoy paved walking trails, two playgrounds, four baseball/softball diamonds, ample parking, four pavilions, two pickleball and tennis courts, one restroom facility, and six soccer fields. The park provides opportunities for active recreation, including youth leagues for team sports managed by the EBYA. This independent non-profit organization has priority access to and assists in the maintenance of the Township's athletic fields.
Copeland School Park
Copeland School Park, located at 665 Copeland School Road in West Chester, Pennsylvania, is a 7-acre park with a rich history. Named after the historic one-room schoolhouse across the street, the park features a softball field, a multi-use natural turf field, and a basketball court. Ample parking is available from Copeland School Road, and the park includes water fountains (not operational in winter) and a portable toilet. A multi-use trail connects Copeland School Park to East Bradford Park. Teams, large groups, and private instructors must obtain permits from the Township to use the fields. Single-use permits can be requested and paid for online, while recurring seasonal use should be coordinated with Rich Phifer via email.
