MaCalus V. Hogan, MD, MBA, is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon based at 5200 Centre Ave, Ste 415, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Dr. Hogan is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as the David Silver Professor and Chair of the UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He holds multiple key roles at UPMC, including chief of foot and ankle surgery, vice chair of education, and residency program director. Additionally, Dr. Hogan is a professor in the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Bioengineering, and he directs the Foot and Ankle Injury Research (FAIR) group and co-directs the Musculoskeletal Growth and Regeneration Lab. He completed his undergraduate studies with honors at Xavier University of Louisiana and earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He further specialized in foot and ankle surgery during his fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, where he gained experience as a consultant for the New York Ballet Company, American Ballet Theatre, and various sports teams.
