"First appointment I had, I was told I needed 7 different procedures, including root canal because a cavity was too close to the nerve of the tooth. I went back to my old dentist ( switched because old dentist was further away and wanted a closer office) and not only did my old dentist tell me I didn’t need any of those 7 procedures, but he filled the cavity without root canal. He stated it wasn’t near the nerve. And furthermore, the one thing i did need was a gum graft, and that wasn’t mentioned at all with Ocean because they do not make money from it. I am willing to drive a distance to keep seeing an honest dentist vs being up sold on unnecessary procedures. I would run from this office. Very dishonest and looking to just make money Follow up…. My husband got a call the night before his appointment and was told by the office that him, my 3 children, and obviously me ( I wrote above review that was posted under his name as I used our email account) were no longer welcome at this practice. I obviously was not going back, but they canceled my husbands appointment the night before, towards end of year, so for insurance purposes he didn’t have much time to get another appointment. Well, my old dentist fit my husband in the next day to get his second cleaning in before the end of the year. My husband asked the Ocean dental office about the review and asked what about the review was incorrect. My husband being a local business man said that as a business owner, he always puts the customer first and wanted the doctor to call him to explain or discuss the situation. The doctor never called him or me back. Never responded to concerns and on top of everything, had the office staff call my husband instead of himself. Sounds a bit guilty to us as well as incredibly unprofessional. My husband did say the office staff was nice to him on the phone as it was an uncomfortable position for them"

"They frequently send out reminders to make an appointment but do not respond when you fill out the form with availability. The receptionist staff are rude, unprofessional, and not very good at their follow up responsibilities. If you don't have time to respond to emails, don't have an automated system that sends out emails for scheduling appointments. The hygienists and doctors are good. You just have to deal with the desk people to see them."

"Ocean Dental is awesome; from check in to check out the staff is fantastic. Carolyn is the best hygienist with amazing skills and a gentle touch. The front desk staff here is amazing!!!!! Carolyn RDH and Dr Steve are the best in the business, start to finish best dental cleaning and exam ever. Please give this office a try it’s IMPOSSIBLE not to leave completely satisfied and with cleaner, healthier teeth than you walked"
