"I first took my kitten here for routine check ups and vaccinations and had a wonderful experience. My cat fell ill about two months after her yearly check up and I returned to South Side Flats Animal Hospital (previously City Vets). All regular tests were coming back inconclusive and her symptoms were normal for a cat less than a year old. The vet then returned and told me he had a suspicion of what might be wrong but it would cost between $3,000 to $5,000 to get a conclusive DIAGNOSIS (no treatment included aside from IV fluids and an overnight stay at the vet). I told him that I could not justify that much money for a diagnosis without any treatment plan and I was told that "if it is what I think it is than euthanasia might be the best path forward." I immediately took my cat to get a second opinion where I got a positive diagnosis and treatment. Over a year later and she's doing great over a year later. This place is fine for routine treatments but I would not trust them when your pets life is on the line."

"Would recommend in the highest regard! Dr. Baldwin saved my cats life. I was lucky enough to be seen last minute for an emergency that would’ve meant life or death for my cat Turbo. He was very patient with me and empathetic and toon time to explain my cat’s diagnosis. You can tell the staff here really really cares about the pets they are taking care of. Will definitely be back."

"We had a parakeet that was sick and we knew that it needed to be seen quickly. We called 10 different vets ( there are not a lot of vets that see birds) one of them recommended South Side Flats Animal Hospital. So I called and explained the situation and they got us in right away to see the doctor. She very thoroughly explained our options so we could make the best decision. From the time we walked in until we left everyone could not have been kinder. They treated us with compassion and empathy. Unfortunately our Poppy passed. I would absolutely bring any of my other animals here for care when needed. Thanks again to everyone that helped us."

"The office was pretty clean and the staff was extremely friendly. Dr. Ladd was very kind, knowledgeable and professional. She knew how to handle my nervous cat. She discussed treatment plan with me and explained the difference between medications very clear. They even gave me a chance to see the bill before I made any decision, though my cat was covered by insurance. After taking my cat for a skin care suspicious of allergy to dust mite, I received a call two days later to follow up progress. They really show their care for clients, and I would absolutely recommend them to any pet owner looking for a quality vet clinic!"

"I've been going to City Vets (now SSFAH) for almost five years and I loved the first vets a lot. Then the pandemic... Now I see some familiar faces, and that makes me happy. Dr. Ladd has been terrific in my visits/appointments with her. She helped me through euthanizing one dear dog, and now my remaining dog is in her care. She's kind, thorough, friendly, and, though what do I know, knowledgeable. She has given me options with both dogs, options that were well explained. The entire staff has been great in my experience — I feel like my dogs are treated well and with a kind of care that I appreciate. The facility is clean and seems to run smoothly too. I live nearby and walk to and from our appointments, which is a plus for me, but I'd still encourage people from elsewhere to consider this practice when they're looking for a vet. Keep doing what you're doing — a lot of us appreciate you."
