As a proud member of the Free Library system, we serve the diverse neighborhoods of Kensington, West Kensington, and Norris Square, offering a wide array of resources including books, videos, magazines, and music in both English and Spanish. Our library boasts a rich history, tracing back to its origins as the Frankford Avenue Branch in 1894. Over the years, we have evolved with the community, moving locations and expanding our services to better serve our patrons. Our current location, opened in 1956 and renovated in 1997, features modern amenities including Internet access, and a beautiful mosaic in the meeting room created by local children in collaboration with Network Arts.
