Edward J. McClain, III, MD, is a highly esteemed orthopaedic surgeon based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. MaCalus V. Hogan, MD, MBA, is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon based at 5200 Centre Ave, Ste 415, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Dr. Hogan is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and serves as the David Silver Professor and Chair of the UPMC Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. He holds multiple key roles at UPMC, including chief of foot and ankle surgery, vice chair of education, and residency program director. Additionally, Dr. Hogan is a professor in the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery and Bioengineering, and he directs the Foot and Ankle Injury Research (FAIR) group and co-directs the Musculoskeletal Growth and Regeneration Lab. Dr. Hogan's educational background is extensive. He completed his undergraduate studies with honors at Xavier University of Louisiana and earned his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He underwent orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia Health System, including a fellowship year focused on musculoskeletal tissue repair and regeneration through the NIH Clinician Scientist program.
