"I have taken my pets to Richboro Veterinary Hospital for many years. Last year, I moved out of the area, but continued to bring my pets to this practice despite now living 45 minutes away. In the back of my mind I always thought eventually I would find a vet closer to my new home in case of emergencies, but hadn’t yet. Dr Sampson and Dr Linn had made it quite easy for when my pets needed care - I could send pictures or videos if I had a question, and bring my pet in when needed. It was rather convenient, so I didn't feel like it was too far to continue to take my pets to this practice. Yesterday, however, I was faced with an emergency. We were having a snow and ice storm and I woke up to find my 11 year old Himalayan cat laying on the floor unable to move the right side of her body. Almost as if she had a stroke in the middle of the night., I had no idea what had happened but knew she needed to be seen as soon as possible. I called a local vet that was less than a mile from my new home and explained the situation. I just needed my cat to be seen, and being that we were in the midst of an ice storm I figured this was my best and probably only option considering the roads were awful and they were less than a mile away. They told me they didn’t “feel comfortable” seeing her and suggested I call elsewhere. Rather than call around to other vets, wasting valuable time, I called Richboro Veterinary Hospital. When I spoke with Dr Sampson he told me to bring her right in. I drove an hour in the snow and ice for my cat to be seen. Dr Sampson gave her a basic neuro assessment and discussed the possibilities of what could be wrong with her, and what potential outcomes we could be looking at - based on this initial assessment - none of them were good. I had decisions to make. While it wasn’t the outcome I had hoped for, I feel better knowing I was able to have my sweet girl of 11 years seen by her doctor when faced with such an emergency. So I just wanted to post this review to thank Dr Sampson, and the wonderful staff at RVH for continuing in the steps of Dr Linn - making sure Richboro Veterinary Hospital is always available to me, and always adequately staffed, in case of an emergency. Thank you for seeing and caring for Priscilla (aka Miss Priss) in her time of need , because she deserved nothing less."
"Doctor Sampson is a truly amazing human. One of our pups(snow) got diagnosed with Addison's disease in 2020 and we ended up changing vets to RVH. Since this was all new of course we were doing research on google and Dr.Sampson had no problem answering all my questions, and there were a lot. He never once made me feel like a burden for asking like some other veterinarians do. At our most recent 1 year visit Dr.Sampson broke the news Snow may have lymphoma. He went over all the different tests we can do to confirm but eventually it was confirmed. We then went over all the options after we decided not to go through chemo. Any time we had questions he would always take the time to call us back and talk about it. Three weeks later snow wasn't doing good at all and I woke up one day thinking it would be his last hoping I was wrong and it was just a bad day. While our boy was struggling to breathe at home I called the office to see if they can squeeze us in to euthanize him which they did. We rushed over and staff met us in the parking lot with a cart, he was about 130 lbs and couldn't walk. The only negative was as we hear our boy struggling to breathe/dying the receptionist came for a signature and payment which my husband then told her to leave the room and we would pay when we left. (We ended up not having to since he went on his own)Maybe one minute after being in the room our boy took his last breath as Dr.Sampson was coming in. Through that difficult time he sat with us and again answered all our questions and even walked us back to our car with our boy to help get him in. We are super grateful for him and his team. Thank you thank you thank you for the care you gave and will continue to give our pups."
"My cat had a broken leg from an accident and I took him to the emergency vet. They quoted me an astronomical price to repair his leg that was more than several months salary for me. I was in shock and dismay and so sad. A kind friend helped me call around to try to find better options. Finally we found Dr. Linn and the team at the Richboro Veterinary hospital. They performed the orthopedic surgery my cat needed to save his leg at a fraction of the cost many other practices were quoting me. Not only did they save his leg, but it's in great condition and the staff was kind and wonderful. We have gone there for X-rays and follow-up visits for the past several months and have been treated consistently with kindness respect, and Mr. Ginger has received excellent care. I cannot say enough about the great experience we have had at Richboro Veterinary Hospital"
"Very grateful to Dr. Sampson and the whole staff. Everyone is very nice and patient. Dr. Sampson is very knowledgeable and really listens and cares about our fur babies. He has successfully completed my cat’s eye surgery (Icy says hello!) while other vets refused to even take him. And Today he has found a way to become friends with my anxious and hyperactive dog during her annual exam, blood tests and vaccinations. The nurse was very nice, gentle and super patient to my dog. I can’t say enough how happy we are to find such a wonderful doctor and team like you. Many many thanks to everyone for all your hard work!!!"
"I cannot say enough good things about Richboro Veterinary Hospital and Dr. Linn. If you're looking for a vet but wondering if this one is good, affordable, helpful, kind, gentle with animals, etc., the answer is YES to all of those. Go here. This is going to be a long review, but I want everyone to know how excellent they are. On Sunday, 4/17, my cat Kellen started throwing up. Vets are closed on weekends, so we had to take him to the vet Monday. His vet had no openings and no vet in the area would squeeze him in. Each office expressed concern that he had a blockage (which is life threatening and can go south within 24) hours but refused to see him. They recommended we take him to the ER. Unfortunately, all of the local ERs were only accepting the most severe cases at their own discretion. Many of these vets were quoting over $250 just to walk in the door, and stating that x-rays and ultrasounds would need to be performed and be hundreds more. The only open ER had an 8 hour wait, so we decided to try his vet again in the morning. At this point, Kellen got worse. He was lethargic, not eating, I couldn't tell if he was using the litter box, and he had gone from throwing up food to throwing up nothing because there was nothing in his belly. These are very common symptoms of blockages. We tried again on 4/19 to get any vet to see him and stressed the time-sensitive nature of the issue; 48 hours with a blockage is enough time for a kitty to pass away. Again, no one could get him in and kept reiterating that he would likely die without treatment (which is a horrible thing to say when not offering treatment). We called the ER back to let them know we were on our way, and they told us not to come-- they were at capacity. We were on our way to Quakertown Vet Hospital, which is an hour and a half from our home, when I found Richboro Veterinary Hospital on Google. I decided to give them a call as a last ditch effort. Not only did they get us in within a couple hours, they were WONDERFUL. There was absolutely no wait between when we showed up and were seen. Dr. Linn took the time to address my many questions, soothe my worries (because at this point it had been over 2 days and I was beyond frantic), and treat Kellen. He was so gentle with him, gave him a thorough examination, declared it to likely be gastritis based on his findings (not a blockage!) and gave Kellen some anti-nausea medicine with clear follow-up instructions should the issue return. We were in and out within a half hour, maybe less. He also took the time to give him a general wellness exam. He saved me so much heartache AND money. I have never met a vet as good as Dr. Linn. I tried literally every vet within a 30 mile radius of the 19116 zip code, and I am so frustrated with all of them. I don't care how far away you live, Richboro Vet is THE BEST. Also, Kellen is now totally fine and very happy : ) Cat tax attached."
