The property was used as "Camp Ivy" for Girl Scout Troop #3 of Schwenksville for many years, allowing children to connect with the natural world. In 2019, ownership of the preserve was transferred to Natural Lands, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving open space, caring for nature, and connecting people to the outdoors.
