"There is something supernaturally, freakishly good about these subs, and there always has been. They don’t look special, but they’re absolutely amazing. Don’t worry about the “service” or “atmosphere”. It is, after all, inside the husk of a defunct 19th century post-office and is decorated with Post-Gazette pullout posters from 1993. The people who run the place aren’t there to be nice, and if you think they are mean, you should have been there when it was run by Nurse Ratchet and Miss Trunchbull in the 80s and 90s. Then for a while it was run by a freakin gnome. You get in, hope you don’t get barked at, check out the Jaromir Jagr posters, and get out with subs that you’ll be dreaming about for weeks after."

"SRU Alumni here and grew up in the area, and used to eat here all the time while I was younger. Sadly, I feel as though the quality has gone downhill. Ordered a Senior Pastrami, and it had more oil on it than meat. Soaked through the paper wrapper and the bag. While this place has so much nostalgia for me, I'm not sure I'll go back for a while."

""Actually the phone was first" was the greeting I got after standing in line. Not only was that the worst greeting I've ever had from Bob's Sub (2005 SRU Alumni) it wasn't even true since I did an online order so she only had to turn around and hand it to me. It'll be a long time before I'm back and then hopefully new people will be working."

"So I used to enjoy this place for many years but now not so much. First off the bleach smell slams into your face the moment you open the door and stays on your clothes when you leave. The roast beef ( you now need to order double meat) has like 2 slices verses 1. They slopped a TON of mayo on it that it was dripping over all the sides. Just awful. I had 3 bites and dumped it into the closest garbage can. I'll never eat here again . Sad"

"I would readily abandon my vehicle in a handicapped spot and be towed if it meant I could get my hands on Bob's Subs 15 seconds faster. This place is better than any other food options within a 30 mile radius of Slippery Rock."
