Mitchell Pools

"Like the other reviewer from five years ago, we purchased a home that had a pool installed by Mitchell pools. Mitchell pools actually was on an annual retainer to maintain the pool, as well as open and close, and the lady in the office told me it was well-maintained by the previous owner of the home, so we didn’t bother having it inspected at purchase… mistake There were electrical problems, some of the pumps didn’t work properly, as well as shoddy light install work… with all these issues Mitchell pool still opened the pool and prepared it for use! Kevin attempted to come fix these issues (we were paying) , although I found out they were here when I saw random men wandering around in my backyard at 6:30 at night… (no courtesy call) … Kevin ultimately was unable to fix the issues and told me to hire another contractor AND the pool was unsafe to use and probably had been unsafe to use for years under the previous owner When I put the pressure on about how I can’t believe he can’t take care of these issues if he installed the pool, we never heard back from Kevin or Mitchell pools again about coming to finish the work they started… Several weeks later I received a boiler plate CYA liability dodger letter in the mail from Mitchell Pools informing me in writing that they informed me in person the pool was not safe to use…"

"I'm so disappointed in this company and in Kevin Mitchell in particular. We bought a house that had an older pool that was put in by Mitchell pools. A few years later, we completely revamped that pool and hired Mitchell pools for the redo. We spent over $80K to have the pool and decking redone and were overall satisfied with the work. Less than 2 Springs later, the decking was cracking everywhere. I call Mitchell pools and they said they would fix it. While in the middle of fixing it, Kevin told me that they didn't order enough tiles and it would be a few more weeks. This is pretty typical of how things went with the pool project a few years earlier so no big deal. Then, one of Mitchell's employees said "we plan to open your pool next week" and I informed them that I had decided to contract another company to open and service our pool since I was unhappy with this whole issue with the decking. Well, since that phone call, I have unable to contact them. They don't return my phone calls and they never returned to finish the decking. We've gone the entire summer with broken down decking on a brand new pool. I write this because I think that level of service should be known to the public. I would never recommend them because they cannot be trusted. It's sad that Mitchell can't stand behind his work."
