"I want to start by saying that the Dr and technicians that I saw were absolutely wonderful. My one star is due to their receptionist/office attendant Vicki. After my initial visit and ultrasound, I received a phone call where Vicki told me that my insurance lapsed. I told her that wasn't true, and asked what number she called, etc so that I could figure out what was going on. She proceeded to get on the defense but said she will look into more, but it needed to be taken care of before my next visit. I didn't hear anything back, had my second visit, and even scheduled future appointments with her, and nothing was mentioned outside of my $50 copay. On Friday I got a call from her, and she said that my insurance changed, and I am not covered. I told her that my insurance has not changed and asked who she talked to. She said it was automated, so I asked if she actually talked to a person. She proceeded to say that she didn't know why I was putting it on her, and that I needed to take care of this before my procedures. I told her I was asking for information, and that I was calling my insurance company. I spoke to someone with my insurance and they verified that I was fully covered, and that the claims were not getting entered correctly, because they had to be submitted to the local (Pennsylvania) Blue Cross first, and that she would call and speak to her. I had stepped away from my phone and ended up missing a call from Vicki and she had left a message to call back. I called back and she said that she was on the phone with the insurance company while my insurance company was trying to call her, and found out that I am out of network and not covered. I told her that's not true, and she cut me off and said "yes it is " I was so annoyed at this point that I told her to cancel the rest of my appointments and disconnected the call. I called my insurance company back, and talked to someone else, and they also verified that I am covered. I am out of network because my insurance company is based in Maryland, but that is why claims have to be submitted to the local blue cross first. They also made a note in my file to process any further claims that might come through from them. I don't know if Vicki is new, or that she's been there that long that she's just angry and bitter. Even my first visit while waiting to check in, she was dealing with scheduling another patient, and after that patient left and I was waiting to get called back, I heard her complaining to a tech in their hallway about how this girl was just going to cancel her appointments, and why she even bothered making them, but this poor girl said several times that she didn't have her schedule that far in advance. Even the two girls I talked to from my insurance company were flabbergasted by what I was being told, and I told them I was floored, and concerned about how many other people are wrongfully told they don't have insurance and have to pay out of pocket. The overall attitude that I received was disgusting, and I just hope this review doesn't fall on deaf ears."

"The staff at Advanced vein &Laser Center of Lancaster, are amazing! I started my journey with them right after having a baby. They were so helpful with her!! They did an amazing job explaining everything in a way that I could understand. It felt like they truly wanted to get to know me and my family, and I was not just another patient. After a year with them, my legs feel awesome and they look great! I would come back to them anytime! I also, would recommend them to anyone and everyone!!"

"I was both surprised and delighted by the genuinely nice people I have met with at Advanced Vein & Laser Center. From the the front desk personnel, to the ultrasound technician, everyone I met with was honestly just really nice. I understood why when I met Dr. David Winand. My impression of him is that he really cares about his patients. He took plenty of time to explain all I needed to understand, didn't talk over me in "Dr. Speak", and made me feel very comfortable. I also observed how appreciative he is of his staff - something Doctors don't always have a reputation for. Everyone there made me feel very comfortable. My surgery is tomorrow, and I have complete confidence that I am in the right hands."
