Bowman’s Hill Tower
Bowman’s Hill Tower is a popular tourist attraction located at 1 Tower Road in New Hope, Pennsylvania, United States. Offering a stunning 14-mile view on a clear day, the tower stands 125 feet tall atop Bowman’s Hill, providing visitors with a unique bird’s-eye perspective of the surrounding countryside and Delaware River. Although it was not actually in existence during General George Washington’s day, the tower was built in 1929-31 to commemorate what may have been a lookout point for Washington’s troops. Constructed of local field stone, the tower took nearly two years to complete and cost $100,000, including labor and materials. Visitors can explore the tower on guided tours offered Wednesday through Sunday from 10 AM to 4 PM, weather permitting. Tickets are required for admission. Additionally, the tower can be visited as part of a combination ticket when exploring other attractions in the park, such as the Thompson-Neely House, Grist Mill, Historic Village, and Thompson-Neely Farmstead. The tower underwent extensive restoration in the early 1980s and is now managed by the non-profit organization Friends of Washington Crossing Park.

The mill was once owned by Robert Thompson and later by William Neely, who ran the mill for over 40 years. After being closed for 50 years, the mill was restored in the late 1970s and reopened to the public in 2018. Guided tours are available Wednesday through Sunday, and tickets are required for entry.
