β OpenThe Thomas Covered Bridge is a historic tourist attraction located at 180 Thomas Covered Bridge Road in Indiana, Pennsylvania, United States. Originally approved for construction in June 1877, the bridge was completed in 1879 by contractor Amos Thomas and superintendent Morton Fleming at a cost of $545. The bridge, also known as Thomas Ford Bridge and Thomas Station Bridge, is the only Town lattice truss bridge in the United States constructed with a single supporting chord. Completely reconstructed in 1998 at a cost of over $1,000,000, the current bridge has a 20-ton weight limit and spans 85 feet over Crooked Creek in Armstrong Township. Visitors can enjoy the picturesque views and historical significance of this unique bridge, located near Yarnick's Farm Market.
