SCI Greene is a maximum-security prison located at 175 Progress Drive in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. Deputy Superintendent for Centralized Services, Mark DiAlesandro, and Deputy Superintendent for Facilities Management, Stephen Buzas, oversee the operations of the institution. The facility was established in 1993 on a 128-acre site known as the Allison Tract in Franklin Township. The institution reached its inmate capacity in 1995 and has since expanded with the construction of two new housing units. SCI Greene offers various specialized units such as the Residential Treatment Unit, Step-Down Unit, and Management Control Unit. Inmates have access to vocational classes that provide industry-recognized certifications, and video visitation services are available for inmates to connect with family members. The institution also operates a garment factory through Correctional Industries, providing employment for both staff members and inmates. Additionally, the Community Work Program at SCI Greene contributed over 5,600 hours of community service in 2019, showcasing the institution's commitment to serving the community. As part of the Keystone State, SCI Greene upholds a legacy of tolerance and freedom since its founding in 1681.
