Early Intervention Specialists
- By 6 Months: Infants begin to recognize familiar faces, smile, and make cooing sounds. They start lifting their heads, rolling over, and holding toys briefly. They watch their own hands, explore their surroundings, try new foods, and play with their toes. - By 1 Year: Babies can roll a ball, look for dropped toys, and play with toys. They start using a cup with help, sitting up, creeping or crawling, and pulling up to stand. They begin to say and understand a few words and may start standing alone. - By 2 Years: Toddlers speak several words together, feed themselves with a spoon, and drink from a cup. They can point to body parts when asked, kick a ball, and walk up and down stairs. They enjoy hearing stories and playing alone for short periods.
