With a medical degree from West Virginia University School of Medicine (1989) and extensive training including an internship and orthopedic surgical residency at the University of South Carolina, Dr. Agnew brings a wealth of experience to his practice. His career also includes 15 years of service in the U.S. Naval Reserves Medical Corps, where he reached the rank of commander during active duty in 2003. Since joining Pittsburgh-based Tri Rivers Surgical Associates (now Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal Centers) in 1994, Dr. Agnew has built a reputation for excellence in total joint replacement surgery and general orthopedics. He maintains privileges at three hospitals and is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. At Tri Rivers Musculoskeletal, Matt primarily collaborates with Dr. Scott Rainey, an orthopedic spine surgeon. His roles include serving as the first assist in the operating room and conducting new patient consultations in the office.
