The Paul Morgan Observatory, located at 1140 Umpqua College Road in Roseburg, Oregon, is a unique institution that offers both onsite and online viewings of the sun and night sky. It is the only public observatory in southern Oregon and the only all-digital observatory in the Northwest. One of the highlights of the observatory is the upcoming public watch party on April 8, 2024, for the solar eclipse. This rare event will be visible as the moon passes over the sun, eclipsing it for a few minutes. The observatory will provide live images of the eclipse on a large TV monitor screen, starting at 10:30 a.m. and ending at noon.
