β OpenThe Smithville Community Historical Society, located at 110 East Main Street in Smithville, Ohio, is a museum that showcases the pioneer lifestyle with buildings and artifacts dating from 1830 to 1890. Managed by the not-for-profit society, the Board of Directors provides governance oversight and resource development for the Pioneer Village. The society, founded in 1990, is run entirely by volunteers who work to preserve 19th century artifacts, including log cabins in Smithville. Members receive a 20% discount at the gift shop and can even request to be married in the Historic Church of God. Don't miss the annual Spring Hymn Sing event on April 14, 2024, where requests from church hymnals will be accompanied on piano and pump organ.
