J.R. Bockoven, MD is a renowned pediatric cardiologist and director of outreach and education at Akron Children’s Heart Center, located at 3807 Friendsville Road, Wooster, Ohio. Dr. Bockoven has been practicing since 1997 and joined Akron Children’s in 2003. He is a graduate of the Medical College of Ohio and Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management. Dr. Bockoven completed his pediatric internship and residency at University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in cardiology at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has a special interest in pediatric cardiology and international pediatric cardiology care. Dr. Bockoven is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics with a sub-board in pediatric cardiology and is also an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics at Northeast Ohio Medical University.
